“Your premium brand had better be delivering something special, or it's not going to get the business.”
- Warren Buffet
I began working with Kieran in early 2012 when GenCorp entered the sale process for United Technologies’ Pratt & Whitney Rocketdyne (PWR) business. We asked Kieran Doran to join the team due to his vast experience in Mergers and Acquisition accumulated at BAE Systems, L-3 Communications and in his earlier career as an Investment Banker with Credit Suisse. Kieran’s strong understanding of transactions, from both the buy- and sell-side, was a key factor in GenCorp successfully closing a truly transformational deal.
As the Executive Director of Mergers and Acquisitions, I worked on a day-to-day basis with Kieran for twenty months. Kieran supported our initial due diligence efforts, developed valuation models, and was one of the leads on the transaction/negotiation team. He worked closely with GenCorp’s Chief Executive Officer, Chief Financial Officer, General Counsel and the Board of Directors, briefing progress, providing insights and offering recommendations. In addition, Kieran took on the added responsibility of positioning one of our key national security programs for divestiture. Complying with a Federal Trade Commission recommendation, he created a competitive sales process, developed the offering memorandum, identified and solicited buyers and negotiated the Asset Purchase Agreements.
It was a pleasure to work with a person whose strong work ethic and never-give-up attitude set an example for the entire GenCorp team. Kieran was honest, straightforward and always had GenCorp’s best interests in mind. I would not hesitate to bring Kieran back to support any future M&A opportunities we choose to pursue.

Kieran was involved in a very large, difficult and strategic acquisition for our company. His organization, ability to lead, execute, negotiate and resolve was absolutely critical to our success. I would not hesitate to work with him again in the future.
